For those of you who enjoy watching others play games, September 10th is gonna be a date to write down.

Game Marathons is hosting their next Versus Event September 10th, benefiting Child's Play. Two groups of speed-runners are going to be going head-to-head playing Zelda all the way! Fun to be sure, and it's important that you help spread the word of this fun event.

Just the way to fill the void in your now empty Friday afternoons!

The Windmill Hut's New Time

That is when The Windmill Hut, The Spinning Stream's one and only live show, will air from now on, at least for the next school cycle. Make sure you all remember to plan accordingly if possible! I know this isn't convenient for everyone, but without going into messy detail, this had to happen. I'm sorry.

Anyway, see you all on Wednesday! Go Around, Go Around! Don't forget to check out our Second Life area too. You can reach it by simply logging into Second Life and searching "The Spinning Stream".

Site Fixed, TSS Second Life Zone Booming!

So the site went down because I BROKE IIIIIT. Then Oskenso fixed it like THAT. He is God, no other explanation possible.

In other news, The Spinning Stream now has a zone on Second Life! Grey Goomba has toiled night and day to bring you a quality virtual hangout for Nintendo fanboy/girls. Features include Nintendo-themed doodads, a lounge, live streaming Nintendo music 24/7 and a big screen for Nintendo Theater! Getting there is easy--log into Second Life and search "Spinning Stream". Hit teleport and you're there! If you see me around there, give me a holler. I do free music requests as long as I'm there and both Grey Goomba and I are always trying to improve the place. If you have suggestions, let us know!

Advertising Contest

Do you want to show your love for The Spinning Stream and The Windmill Hut? Here's your chance!

I have acquired an item on the petsite Subeta that lets me create an advertisement that will be displayed in their forums 10,000 times.
But, unfortunately, I don't have any skills with drawing, so Nova and I have decided to make this a contest!

So if you are interested in making a 480x90 image that will link back to The Spinning Stream, have at it. Post the image in this thread, and we will select our favorite entry to run as an ad (that is, if any meet our standards).

According to Subeta's rules, the ad must not be "inappropriate, scammy, spammy, or just plain rude;" no images or words that are not PG-13.

If you do a great job and want more than just the satisfaction of helping promote the site, I'm sure we could make some sort of prize... o.o

Click on the handy dandy link below the central navigation board to fill out a form that will let YOU expand OUR playlist whenever you want, as much as you want! Remember the rules though: music from games on Nintendo consoles only! That includes anything that is on multiple consoles including a Nintendo console, so really, you have plenty of ideas already, I'm sure! So whenever you realize, "Hey, The Spinning Stream doesn't play [game you love] music!" go ahead and make it known to us!

Nintendo has announced a nationwide (US) tournament for people of all ages to compete in either pairs or families of four for an olympic-like Wii game tournament.
